Am I becoming a luddite?

I rail on how the internet has given some people an inflated sense of importance.  How they can become kings of their castles, lords of their manors, and queens of their dominions.  Whatever floats your boat and theirs.

Now, I am irritated by cell phones.

Admittedly, I have one and it is my sole piece of equipment derived from Alexander Graham Bell’s invention.  There is no need for me to have more than one.  Why spend the money on a landline? Read more »

Ego & the Internet

I think I have finally come to the conclusion that the internet may be a bad thing in some situations.

I’ve been reading things in the press.  Seeing the photos of famous people’s private parts whiz aroudn the internet.  I see the adoring, worshipping, and blind adulation style comments on celebrity message boards and I recall Bill Flanagan’s book A & R.  There’s a scene where an aging rock star has been posting new songs online and uploading them to Napster.  Of course, he’s doing this because no label will sign him.  Or, this is what I remember.
