“W.T.F.?”
Ok. In my office, a college student has an assignment to do something on a computer. The program acts weirdly. She says in a valley girl accent (which is her natural tone), all the while acting presumptuous as if the computer has wronged her:
“Umm. W.T.F.?”
A good friend who is well educated. He’s older than college but still young enough to be considered a “youngin’” is watching television (we all hate television) and when an ad that is off-kilter comes on, he says:
“W.T.F.?”
Using the shorthand language of instant messaging in day-to-day life, especially when just saying letter, strikes me as when people would say “WhatEVER!”
Call me elitist, but it sounds quite unsophisticated. We should all strive to give the impression that we are much more intelligent than we are doing so currently. Perhaps the world will think better of us.
