Jimi Hendrix Gets Canned

The Jimi Hendrix experience will soon come in a bottle.

A Los Angeles-area beverage company has obtained licensing rights to the rock legend’s name and image to market a new line of nonalcoholic energy drinks called the Liquid Experience.

The drink line’s name is, of course, a reference to Hendrix’s 1967 breakthrough album, Are You Experienced? The product is slated to debut in April. Learn more…

Obviously, I missed the memo.

I just watched a few minutes of Last Call with Carson Daly doing an imitation (he likely didn’t think so, but this is me talking now…) of Letterman’s awkwardness and body movements, Conan’s humor and body movements, all with a slight, hint of his own style.

Ego & the Internet

I think I have finally come to the conclusion that the internet may be a bad thing in some situations.

I’ve been reading things in the press.  Seeing the photos of famous people’s private parts whiz aroudn the internet.  I see the adoring, worshipping, and blind adulation style comments on celebrity message boards and I recall Bill Flanagan’s book A & R.  There’s a scene where an aging rock star has been posting new songs online and uploading them to Napster.  Of course, he’s doing this because no label will sign him.  Or, this is what I remember. Tuesday’s Aftermath

It took me almost two days to process the news: Brittney Spears has filed for divorce.

And, K-Fed now was sole custody of the two children.

Oh, yeah, and the Democrats won both the House and the Senate. But that’s just small change, right?

Admittedly, Tuesday night was one where it was a slow process to enjoy. I was up late. I was cautious in feeling good and confident about the televised results. I kept expecting to have someone come wake me up only to find that I had been drugged and my mouth covered with duct tape only for believing in social justice and human rights.
